Adelante Mujer Inc. is a Colorado registered nonprofit organization that began as a movement in 1979. This movement was designed to help Latina women gain entry and succeed in mainstream education, employment and economic systems, while retaining their cultural values. Over the years, Adelante Mujer Inc. has proved to be powerful and motivating tool for the thousands of women who have attended our conferences. Even more powerful were the results for the hundreds of women who learned about leadership by organizing and participating in the conferences and workshops.
The mission of Adelante Mujer Inc. is to sponsor and promote activities dedicated to the education, job training, employment, and cultural leadership development of Latinas. The Board of Directors shall implement our mission into all events sponsored by the organization. Our conferences stress the importance of graduation from high school, guide and encourage post secondary education and training, as well as ensure jobs and careers. Our goal is to open the vision of healthy, happy and successful lifestyles for Latinas and their families.
Adelante Mujer Inc. offers two programs, The LaTEENa Conference and The LaTEENa Alumni Leadership Program. Students at the LaTEENa Conference will attend two workshops led by successful professional Latinas, on the critical skills needed by teens to graduate. The LaTEENa Alumni Leadership Program is for students who have attended past LaTEENa Conferences. This six-week workshop series is an extraordinary opportunity to receive support and guidance from successful Latina and Latino leaders including: college professors, college students, teachers, business executives, public employees, and community leaders. You will learn the steps and choices needed to insure your own personal success, now and in the future.
The LaTEENa Alumni participate as leaders during the LaTEENa Conference and attend advanced leadership workshops.
